Bayawan Water District (BAWAD) officially opened its Drive-Thru Payment Kiosk to the public last December 28, 2021.
Mayor Pryde Henry A. Teves personally graced the event together with the BAWAD employees headed by their General Manager Alma Abrasaldo and Board of Directors.
The Drive-Thru Payment Kiosk initiative was brought forth by the agency to adapt to the new normal and hopes to address the pressing concerns brought about by this COVID-19 pandemic. Through this, it capacitates contactless payment transactions and less exposure to people.
Mayor Teves was the first client to experience BAWAD's Drive-Thru Payment Kiosk. He even expressed positive remarks for such an initiative and hoped that other agencies would replicate it.
Furthermore, BAWAD extended its services, most especially to those who were greatly affected by super typhoon Odette. The extent of destruction brought about by such a catastrophic event left the nation with destroyed homes, uprooted trees, toppled powerlines, and alterations in the water supply.
BAWAD is one of the few water districts that helped other cities and municipalities in the province of Negros Oriental. Also, there are BAWAD employees who went out of their way by running the operation of water tankers and other equipment, also fixing broken pipelines to the affected areas.
