Bayawan City Disaster Risk Reduction Office officially launched the Best Barangay Kanunay Andam sa Peligro or Best KAP program last September 18 in the Liga Bldg, Bayawan City.

This was participated by officials of the various 28 barangays in the city headed by their barangay captains.
The said program initiated by the CDRRM which complies with the RA10121 or the PDRRM Act of 2010.

According to Engr. Edward Torreda, the CDRRM head that this program was initiated to ease the strain in the barangays, especially in preparation and response during disasters.

As committee chairman in Peace and Order, Councilor Jonas Trias added that "We should prepare our barangays as it is the front liners in responding to the needs of their people during disasters."

The program was already started last year where Brgy. Kalumboyan won as Best Barangay Kanunay Andam sa Peligro in the rural area and Brgy. Villareal in the urban area in Bayawan City.
