As per the mandate of the Republic Act of 11315 or the CBMS Act of 2019, the Philippine Statistics Authority of Negros Oriental in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bayawan City through the Office of Planning and Development conducted an eight-day training for all enumerators, team leaders, and area supervisors in Bayawan in preparation for this year’s Community-Based Monitoring System Project.
Ms. Erjien R. Tenefrancia, the current Local Planning, and Development Coordinator stated that CBMS is done every three years to know the status of every family in the city. The data acquired will be used in planning and producing more projects and programs suit best for the betterment of the community.
Based on the PSA data, there has been an increase in the number of households in Bayawan, from 24,500 in the year 2015 to 34,000. The Statistical Analyst Elmer Baring said that with the help of modern technology, conducting CBMS will be a whole lot easier. He also extended his gratitude for the all-out support of LGU Bayawan. He also asked for the cooperation of every Bayawanon for the program’s success.
There will be approximately 135 enumerators, accompanied by their team leaders, and area supervisors to be deployed next week in all areas of the city as the CBMS jumpstarts.
